Job Title: General Production – 1st Shift and 2nd shiftJob DescriptionThe Production team supports production operations by safely loading 40-pound blocks of cheese onto processing lines, preparing product for shredding and packaging, and handling finished goods for shipment. This role involves consistent lifting, working with packaging equipment, and following strict food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards in a temperature-controlled production environment.Responsibilities
• Load 40-pound blocks of cheese onto conveyors and tables to feed shredding and packaging lines. • Lift filled boxes of finished product onto pallets for storage and shipment. • Perform visual inspections of cheese blocks to ensure no plastic or foreign material remains before shredding. • Use sharp tools to cut and remove plastic from cheese blocks in a safe and controlled manner. • Bag shredded cheese into correct portions according to production specifications. • Attach appropriate labels to packaged product, ensuring accuracy and legibility. • Follow all GMP requirements, including wearing hair nets, beard nets, smocks, and steel-toe footwear. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards. • Adhere to all plant rules, including working in a smoke-free environment and complying with restrictions on jewelry, artificial nails, and artificial eyelashes. • Work safely around production equipment and materials, including products containing nuts. • Support general production tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving packages as needed. • Communicate effectively with machine operators and team members to keep lines running efficiently. • Demonstrate reliable attendance and consistent performance in a repetitive, labor-intensive role. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
