Financial Analyst II

Position Description: Performs central accounting and financial analysis functions according to established procedures.

Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas.

Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.

Major/Essential Functions: • Responsible for accounting functions according to established policies and procedures. Analyzes accounting data to ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards. • Assist the Director of Accounting in managing different funds, budgets, budget revisions, and financial reporting compilations and distributions. • Review fund activity and analyze trend reports to determine proper accounting treatment. • Assist in the maintenance of the institution fund structure and finance system to ensure accurate accounting records and reporting. • Process transactions following established deadlines after a thorough review and interpretation of the substance of each transaction. • Works with department leaders and staff in resolving and researching accounting issues related to their department needs. • Produce and maintain complete, well-organized documentation of transactions, processes, reports, financial research and all applicable work papers for assigned functions. • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to learn complex financial information systems. • Experience in Fund Accounting, Sungard Banner and/or Cognos.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR • Combination of education and experience to equal 6 years.
