Marine Claims Manager
Full time, permanent
The successful candidate will undertake to manage the workload and performance of the marine claims team, including FCM team, and identify their training needs. The Manager will oversee and handle a range of marine claims from beginning to end and will liaise with Head Office, other agents, internal departments, lawyers, recovery agents, customers and insurers . All claims to be handled as per our Principals guidance and direct instructions.
How you will help us and what you can expect
Manage & direct the workload and performance of the Marine Claim Handlers & work with FCM Team Supervisor to ensure that all claims are handled correctly and in good timeIdentify the training needs of the team and how to deliver this trainingTo handle marine claims, including cargo, container, vessel, personal injury, payment, devan / revan and recoveries from beginning to end. (Though much of this will be delegated to the team, the manger also needs to ensure that they also handle claims, especially with the larger & more complicated claims including reefers. These major issues will include collision claims, stack collapse on vessels, port incidents and the manager may need to take a lead role in these instances locallyTo ensure all marine claims are accurately completed in various the various UK & GVA systems and appropriate spreadsheetsTo liaise with Head Office, other MSC agents, other UK departments, customer, claimants and insurersTo recover liability amounts from third parties whenever possibleTo communicate and explain claims issues to other members of staff, the claims team and customersTo review procedures and ensure the workflow follows the administrative processes as dictated by MSC Geneva and Internal Quality procedures. To ensure all procedures, policies etc are entered and updated in “The Anchor” & Igrafx as received or changedTo consistently improve year-on -year UK department’s position within MSC Geneva’s Agency (Claims) internal appraisal document Skills and experience you’ll bring to us
