Job SummaryThis is a detail opportunity open to Department of Navy permanent civilian employees in the competitive service currently at the GS-12 grade level (or higher). The selectee will be placed on a temporary detail not to exceed 365 days. The detailee for this position will serve as a person in the office of Quality Assurance Office Code 139
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and directing projects in support of systems processes and submarine or ship operating systems to ensure adherence to Quality Assurance requirements. Major DutiesYou will manage, through subordinate supervisors, resources and nuclear work for the code.You will ensure that the ships system work and/or associated interface work performed is accomplished in a safe, economical, and timely manner and in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements.You will coordinate and provide authoritative responses to audits, surveillances, incident and deficiency reports, or other internal and external reviews.You will analyze problems to determine causes and trends and recommend or direct appropriate corrective action.You will provide evaluation and oversight of nuclear inspection training to ensure improvements/changes to processes are incorporated.You will develop short and long-range plans to provide manning, facilities, material and equipment to support scheduled and unscheduled nuclear work for the code.You will actively support and promote all aspects of the Equal Opportunity Programs and Affirmative Action Plan as directed by applicable laws and regulations.
