Job SummaryYou will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Engineer leading or providing complex technical guidance to engineers and liaisons as it applies to the design, installation, operational procedures, and maintenance of various shipboard systems. Major DutiesYou will be responsible for technical and repair support of diversified and complex shipboard system techniques and processes in the areas of naval architecture, structures, coatings and dry docking.You will maintain liaison with other Naval Shipyards, private contractors and equipment manufacturers in order to keep abreast of the latest technology and assist in resolving technical matters relating to assigned systems.You will investigate, analyze, recommend and execute corrective action for problems pertaining to installation, maintenance, repair and operation of assigned shipboard systems installed onboard ships.You will receive requests for technical assistance and determine which requests can be accomplished in-house and establish priorities for accomplishment.You will coordinate background investigations and research into assigned system non-conformance which require a competent solution in the shortest possible period of time to enable a ship to meet overhaul, operational, or deployment commitments.You will plan work to be accomplished, set priorities, and approve work schedule prepared by code coordinators/shop masters.You will manage branch finances to ensure proper utilization and preclude over expenditures.
