Job Summary***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the TEST ENGINEERING DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.

QualificationsGS-13 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning, developing, and directing a test work control program for ship systems undergoing overhaul, repair, test procedures and requirements. Examples of Qualifying Experience: 1) Experience developing a testing program for ships undergoing overhaul, repair or modernization. 2) Experience conducting reviews and inspections to ensure projects are on schedule. 3) Experience managing or leading the work of technical staff involved in ship repair. GS-12 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing, coordinating, or managing testing on ship systems. Examples of Qualifying experience: 1) Experience applying knowledge of ship overhaul and building specifications and requirements. 2) Experience in conducting reviews and inspections involved in ship repair. 3) Experience in a work control and test organization involved in ship repair. Major DutiesYou will be responsible for initiating and developing the Total Ships Test Program for assigned ships/projects.You will develop the key event schedule in conjunction with the project teams to ensure technically required testing is properly tied to the correct key events.You will oversee and supervise the categorization of work authorization forms, inspection/deficiency reports, etc.You will ensure preparations for the conduct of the test program meet all technical and safety requirements.You will conduct periodic test readiness reviews and meetings with project team members, ship's force division officers, and shipyard managers.
