QualificationsFor GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional engineer applying engineering theories and practices to evaluate, advise on and approve design changes associated with naval architecture, mechanical or structural engineering for submarines or deep submergence naval vessels. For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional engineer applying engineering theories and practices to identify, evaluate, and resolve design problems associated with naval architecture, mechanical or structural engineering for submarines or deep submergence naval vessels. Major DutiesYou will prepare or direct the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications or other engineering products.You will provide technical direction that ensures timely, technically accurate execution of complex design projects and develop documents or drawings for planning projects.You will assume responsibility and authority for technical adequacy, accuracy and timely execution of complex design projects.You will troubleshoot, analyze and resolve technical, administrative and scheduling problems.You will evaluate operations, equipment and activities and develop solutions to project testing and certification objectives.You will perform engineering studies to determine systems requirements, modifications, repairs or specifications.
