Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements: At least three years commercial experience in web development, ecommerce development or technical website management.Strong hands-on Shopify experience, including Shopify themes and Liquid.Strong HTML and CSS knowledge, with practical JavaScript experience.Experience developing and troubleshooting ecommerce functionality.Experience working with applications, APIs, webhooks and third-party integrations.Understanding of technical SEO, website performance, testing and troubleshooting best practice.Ability to assess an existing platform, recommend improvements and take ownership of a business-critical website.Comfortable working independently, communicating clearly with non-technical colleagues and coordinating external developers or software providers.Experience developing B2B ecommerce platforms, customer portals or trade websites is highly beneficial.Experience integrating CRM, ERP, inventory or accounting systems is advantageous, especially with Xero, Erplain or similar platforms.Additional experience with WordPress, PHP, Git, GA4 or other ecommerce platforms is welcomed.Experience within luxury interiors, fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, premium retail or another design-led ecommerce environment is beneficial but not essential.Background in Shopify agencies or digital studios supporting luxury, retail, ecommerce or visually led clients will also be considered. Responsibilities: Take day-to-day technical ownership of our Shopify website.Develop new features, troubleshoot issues and improve performance across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.Work with Shopify themes and Liquid templates.Make front-end changes using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.Configure and troubleshoot Shopify applications.Improve ecommerce functionality, page structure, navigation and customer journeys.Help define requirements for a future B2B trade portal.Assess whether the trade portal should be delivered through Shopify or another platform.Scope required functionality and integrations for the trade portal.Complete suitable development work directly and coordinate external specialists where necessary.Manage and improve connections between the website and wider business systems, including our CRM, inventory software and accounting platforms.Work with APIs, webhooks and third-party applications.Investigate integration issues and identify opportunities to improve automation between systems.Monitor website speed, health, reliability and technical performance.Implement technical SEO best practice.Resolve issues affecting search visibility or customer experience.Maintain a clear development roadmap and document changes.Act as the first point of escalation for website-related technical issues. This is an office-based role offering a salary of £35,000 to £38,000.
