About this role
Sparta Area Schools is seeking a compassionate and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to support students with complex medical needs in accordance with physician orders and care plans. Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and document student health status and communicate with families and staff as appropriate
• Collaborate with school staff to support student access to education
• Maintain accurate health records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
• Current and valid LPN or RN license in the state of Michigan
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in pediatric, community health, or school nursing preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively in dynamic environments
Preferred Skills:
• Experience supporting students with specialized health needs such as Diabetes, Seizures, Tracheostomies, G-Tubes, Ventilators, etc. Familiarity with special education processes and documentation
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered care.
Work Schedule & Environment:
• Follows the school calendar (no weekends, holidays, or summers unless otherwise noted)
• Daytime hours aligned with the student schedule
