About this role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) technician at Select upholds strict food safety regulations and quality standards. They achieve this by monitoring production lines, performing laboratory tests, and enforcing sanitation and hygiene protocols. Ultimately, they prevent contamination and defects, safeguarding consumer health and ensuring product quality and consistency. Responsibilities:Follow up on rework and returned finished goods, ensure that the hold/release is being completed in a timely mannerImplement HACCP procedure as required.Perform formal investigations into any product that is suspected of contamination, or deviation from process. Initiate Formal incident reports (NCR) and appropriately forward notification to the QA Manager.Perform formal investigations into supplier non conformances (SNCR)Place product on hold, tag physically and/or electronically under Sage when needed, follow-up the disposition of any affected products, and fill out appropriate paperwork (Disposal, Rework, etc.).Aid the QA Manager and QA Supervisor with audits as needed.Perform internal audit inspections are required.Aid with mock recalls/traceability exercises as required.Perform daily calibration of analytical equipmentEnsure products conform to the HACCP plans, and perform a gap assessment for deviationsEnsure all HACCP records are completed accurately and maintained and updated.Monitor operation's on the production floor and ensure that activities conform to the HACCP plans.Verify that codes, labels, and seals are correct on finished goods.Perform pre-operation inspection on the plant floor before production begins.Verify all on-line check sheets per frequency - hour, Code, label, sticker, cap, and seal.Perform GMP inspection by following company policy Qualifications:College Level program in relevant field (e.g. food science)HACCP KnowledgeUp to three years experience in food manufacturing production, in food safetyProficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power PointKnowledge of HACCP standardsKnowledge of SQFKnowledge of CFIA and Health Canada regulationsGood presentation skillsRegular shift: 11pm - 7:15amTraining Period: 7am - 3:15pm
