SummaryReporting to the Production Supervisor, the Batching Operator mixes large quantities of raw materials to cook sauces, condiments, and salad dressings. The Batching Operator follows all batching processes, which include interpreting formulas, mass ingredient measurement and product mixing on multiple batching stations. The Batching Operator follows all customer specifications and food safety standards and health and safety practices according to Company standards.Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, may extend due to business needsHourly Rate: $21.64 per hourResponsibilitiesCheck schedules and report to assigned batching stationCommence pre-operation inspections and safety inspections, conforming with company?s good manufacturing practicesAssemble and connect hoses, checking to ensure they are fully clean before useTurn on machinery, program ingredients on HMI programRetrieve required spices and ingredients from Spice Preparers and Material HandlersConfirm quantity of ingredients needed, using light mental math or a calculatorCook assigned sauces while adhering to critical control point measures by taking samples to the quality assurance lab as requiredTransfer finished product to holding tanks or send product to filling machinesQuickly reset and re-start process for next batchesPerform cleaning in place (CIP) processes for product changeoversMeet targets, by ensuring efficiency and safety protocols are metContinuous communication with Material Handlers to ensure that any heavy ingredients are picked up when not needed, keeping a clean, organized stationLearn and operate proficiently on multiple batching stationsAssist other Batchers on several platforms as neededQualificationsExperience in food manufacturing, minimum 6 months, requiredMinimum High School Diploma, requiredExperience in cooking, preferredExperience operating lift truck, preferredWillingness to learnAble to understand and interpret HMI systemsWork EnvironmentLifting and/or carrying up to 50lbsLong standing hours, at heights of up to 15 feetHigh noise levels, ear protection provided if requestedExposure to temperature changes, heat, humidity, and cold depending on cooking cyclesExposure to dust, allergens, and strong scents
