About this role

Your mission <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><table><tbody><tr><td style="width:100%;"><strong>Enterprise Applications Strategy &amp; Portfolio Management</strong><ul><li>Define and execute the engineering applications strategy in alignment with Engineering and business priorities</li><li>Own the application portfolio roadmap, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring</li><li>Lead tool standardization and consolidation initiatives to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency</li><li>Manage vendor relationships, software licenses, and cost optimization across the tool portfolio</li><li>Identify and implement automation and AI/ML capabilities; incorporate into roadmap and team development</li></ul> <br><strong>Technical Administration &amp; Architecture</strong><ul><li>Act as technical lead and primary owner of engineering applications; perform hands-on configuration, administration, integration, and complex troubleshooting</li><li>Administer and maintain PLM, CAD, and other platforms including server infrastructure, databases, and application layers</li><li>Configure workflows, lifecycles, business rules, and integrations to support engineering and manufacturing processes</li><li>Manage user accounts, access permissions, roles, and security policies in accordance with data classification and export control requirements</li><li>Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal operational disruption</li></ul> <br><strong>Integration &amp; Data Management</strong><ul><li>Configure and maintain integrations between PLM, CAD and ERP systems for BOM synchronization and data traceability</li><li>Support data exchange with manufacturing execution systems and requirements management tools</li><li>Develop and maintain automated data migration scripts and system interfaces</li><li>Ensure data integrity, proper file structure hierarchies, naming conventions, and change management workflows</li></ul> <br><strong>Team Leadership &amp; Stakeholder Engagement</strong><ul><li>Coordinate and mentor a small team; define scope, track progress, and escalate risks</li><li>Partner with Engineering, configuration management, and manufacturing to align tools to process needs and manage expectations</li><li>Drive tool awareness, training, and adoption across the organization</li><li>Serve as a trusted enterprise systems advisor to Engineering and IT leadership</li><li>Develop and deliver training materials and ensure effective support in coordination with IT</li></ul> </td></tr></tbody></table> Your profile <strong>Education</strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).</li></ul><strong>Experience</strong><br><ul><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise applications, engineering systems, or related technical areas; 2+ years directly supporting engineering environments (PLM, CAD, collaboration tools). </li><li>Proven track record of hands-on system administration and integration in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industries. </li><li>Experience with tool portfolio management, vendor negotiations, and license optimization. </li><li>Proven track record of supporting engineering organizations in product development environments.</li></ul><strong>Technical Skills</strong><br><ul><li>Strong background in application architecture, administration, integrations, and development. Proficiency with PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter) and CAD/ALM tools (e.g., NX, Altium, Jira, Polarion). </li><li>Experience integrating with ERP, manufacturing tools, and relational databases (e.g. SQL). </li><li>Familiar with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Shell) for automation. </li><li>Exposure to cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, and regulated data environments. </li><li>Exposure to AI/ML and advanced analytics is a plus.</li></ul><strong>Industry Knowledge</strong><br><ul><li>Understanding of product development processes in aerospace or regulated industries. </li><li>Familiar with engineering change management, configuration management, and BOM structures.</li></ul><strong>Leadership &amp; Communication</strong><br><ul><li>Proven ability to operate as a hands-on specialist. Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communicator with both technical and business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and deliver results across cross-functional teams. Forward-thinking mindset with ability to drive adoption of emerging technologies.</li></ul><strong>Language: </strong>Good language skills in English (oral and written). German desirable.<br><strong>Passport:</strong> Swiss / EU Nationals only.<br><strong>Location: </strong>On-site in Näfels or Bilten, Switzerland.
