The Team Leader will emphasize total employee involvement through team building and accountability, skill development and technical training, quality focus, cost management, delivery schedule and customer satisfaction.</p> </div></div><div style="padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;"><div style="word-wrap: break-word;">Job Responsibilities&#13;</div><div><p>&nbsp;</p> <p>1)&nbsp;Provide daily leadership in an aerospace factory work environment and coordinate all required activities associated with an assigned product line(s), work centers and manufacturing departments.<br /> 2)&nbsp;Develop and maintain, for the factory team, a set of clearly defined performance objectives that involve the following areas of individual and team accountability: workplace safety, quality, cost, schedule, process, attendance, cleanliness, and HAZMAT handling &amp; disposal, housekeeping, performance measurements and timely problem resolution.<br /> 3)&nbsp;Develop and deliver plans that meet internal and external customer schedule requirements.<br /> 4)&nbsp;Prepare and implement plans that best optimize the use of available resources.<br /> 5)&nbsp;Develop innovative problem resolution processes and encouraging new ideas and methods; utilize standard aerospace problem solving tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.<br /> 6)&nbsp;Ensure adequate resources are available for the team to produce products that meet established quality, schedule and delivery objectives.<br /> 7)&nbsp;Plan with information from your team, program management, production planning &amp; control, purchasing, quality assurance, engineering and finance the daily and/or weekly activities and priorities.<br /> 8)&nbsp;Develop and utilize Leadership Standard Work (LSW) to ensure all items above are consistently and continually addressed.<br /> 9)&nbsp;Develop competencies within the product lines, work centers and/or department that focus on:<br /> a.&nbsp;technical skills and continuous manufacturing process improvement,<br /> b.&nbsp;developing an understanding of our overall business (cost and asset) management objectives,<br /> c.&nbsp;team communication and problem solving techniques, and personal motivation to achieve requirements established for Key Performance Indicators in quality, schedule and cost performance.<br /> 10)&nbsp;Work to ensure that we are continually improving manufacturing processes and procedures, with technical assistance from tooling, engineering, finance, and materials.<br /> Manage factory hourly personnel:<br /> 11)&nbsp;Comply with government regulations and the company&rsquo;s Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action policies,<br /> 12)&nbsp;Ensure all training requirements are compliant f to customer and internal requirements,<br /> 13)&nbsp;Supporting of training and/or retraining activities supporting internal and customer requirement including computer or instructor led education, hands-on instruction and demonstration of proficiency, and documentation of on-the-job training (OJT) activities</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&bull;&nbsp;Bachelor&rsquo;s degree related discipline, or in lieu of Bachelor&rsquo;s degree 3 years of experience in leadership positions, preferably in a manufacturing environment.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;1+ years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in a manufacturing environment (Lead Man, Team Leader or Supervisor).<br /> &bull;&nbsp;1+ year of quality experience required<br /> &bull;&nbsp;U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Additional Experience and Qualifications</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&bull;&nbsp;Manufacturing experience<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ability to research customer specifications<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, problem analysis, potential problem analysis, decision analysis and planning.&nbsp;<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Skilled in coaching, team-building, business measurement, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques.&nbsp;<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Aerospace experience<br /> &bull;&nbsp;IT skills (Microsoft Office, MRP Systems)<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills</p> </div></div></div><p>Diversity and Inclusion</p> <p>As a global engineering company, innovation is what differentiates us from our competitors and is central to our success.</p> <p>A balance of cultures, ethnicities and genders help bring new ideas and creativity to GKN.
