SUMMARY UD is currently seeking a Teacher Preparation Coordinator to support the Department of Education and Classical Learning in daily operations, including managing all Texas Education Agency (TEA) certification processes and supervising clinical teaching experiences for our Education Preparation Program (EPP) candidates. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the Education and Classical Learning Department, providing essential administrative and clerical support for the department, serving as the official Certification liaison for TEA, and playing a key role in coordinating and supervising teacher candidates’ clinical teaching experiences. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide general administrative support of a department’s routine business and academic activities . Act as the first point of contact for the department, promoting a welcoming and collaborative environment for students, faculty, and external constituents. Assist students seeking certification or an education concentration. Coordinate clinical teaching experiences, including procurement of appropriate field placements. Serve as University Field Supervisor by conducting formal observations of student teachers, providing constructive feedback, and evaluating clinical performance. Keep current on all changes in rules in the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) and maintain timely correspondence with Texas Education Agency (TEA) representatives. Maintain accurate student records including files of students seeking certification, such as Educator Preparation Program (EPP) application preparation, transcript evaluation, online database (ECOS) management, and placement file monitoring. Correspond with TEA and participate in meetings and trainings essential to accreditation and certification. Collect, maintain, and prepare reports for the department with data pertaining to teacher certification as required by TEA and the Registrar. Collaborate with faculty and ensure completion of TEA accreditation audits and other certification reporting. Assist with coordinating admittance into the teacher certification program. Provide faculty updates regarding changes in TEA policies and standards and monitor and update the department assessment procedures/systems to ensure compliance. Monitor students’ progress throughout the teacher education program. Answer public inquiries regarding certification programs at University of Dallas and conduct/participate in information sessions for interested students. Coordinate with the University Library regarding the Clodfelter Children’s Library. Other projects as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Valid Texas Teaching Certificate. Three (3) years of successful K-12 teaching experience. Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills (particularly with TEA systems). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field. Experience with educator preparation programs and/or clinical supervision.
