Previous experience of planning and developing intervention to support reluctant learnersA strong desire to ensure young people, who have often had very negative experiences of education in the past, develop their skills and knowledge to the very best of their ability.Ability to provide specialist support in ensuring that pupils are able to engage both in the classroom and across the wider school community.Previous experience of working with young people of school age who may present with challenging behaviour and complex SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs, preferably within an educational settingA nurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour managementThe physical and emotional resilience to support students with complex needs, taking a non-judgemental approach.Knowledge and experience to support staff in developing excellent classroom practice that fosters positive behaviour for learningThe ability to support teaching and learning within an SEMH setting to a dedicated group of students.Understanding, and experience, of developing, and implementing, individual behaviour support plans & positive strategies.The ability to model and encourage appropriate social behaviour in and out of school and to cater for the general welfare of students.The ability to work as part of a team using own initiative when needed.Willingness to participate in own professional development
