Job summary

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Musculoskeletal Outpatients Physiotherapist looking to take the next step in your career?

This fixed-term opportunity offers an exciting chance to lead and develop the Staff Physiotherapy Service alongside the Musculoskeletal Outpatients Service within the Brownsword Therapies Centre. You'll play a key role in shaping high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting and inspiring a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will;

Plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate the outpatient Physiotherapy service on a day-to-day basis. Provide supervision, training and appraisals to the outpatient Physiotherapy team. Undertake advanced assessment and treatments to patients who may have diverse presentations. Manage the Staff Physiotherapy Service, assessing and treating staff members presenting with musculoskeletal conditions. Reporton progress of ongoingservice projects relating tolocal, divisional and trust wide objectives. Deputise for Deputy Head of Therapies - Outpatients in their absence.

Knowledge & Experience Essential

Advanced knowledge of broad range of condition in specialist area Experience of supervising more junior staff/students Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues Knowledge of validated assessment tools and outcome measures Knowledge and experience of complying with trust policies

Desirable

Evidence of appraisal, supervision and teaching of Band 5/6 staff, assistants and students. Training in clinical supervision and/or leadership skills Experience of implementing change Experience in staff recruitment and interviewing techniques

Qualifications & Training Essential

Degree in Physiotherapy HCPC Registration Evidence of CPD Attendance of relevant postgraduate courses Competent IT skills

CSP Member Involvement in Special Clinical Interest Groups

Specific Skills Essential

Excellent interpersonal skills To remain updated with professional and evidence based practice and new research Effective presentation skills To understand the legal responsibilities of the profession To be able to present information, written and orally, in a clear and logical manner and to keep accurate and legible patient notes To be able to comprehend and work within all the Trusts' policies of clinical governance, data protection, auditing and health and safety To be experienced in performing specialist assessments and treatments with patients with a variety of specific conditions

Physical Skills & Emotional Effort Essential

To have experience of working in a stressful environment and with emotional or aggressive patients and carers To carry out assessments and treatments of patients for several periods with moderate to intense physical effort whilst carrying out concurrent activities To deal sensitively with patients who have high levels of anxiety and aggression caused by pain, dementia or limited mobility
