Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mental Health Team as a Senior Social Worker. The post requires an individual who has a sound knowledge of Social Work practice, legislation and its related statutory responsibilities along with an understanding of the available local resources and systems. An awareness and understanding of the Mental Health Act would be beneficial. Working with colleagues in the local authority, health economy and voluntary sector we aim to maximise the independence of individuals using a strength-based approach. The post has responsibility for the line management of staff and therefore supervisory experience is valuable and focus on outcomes, performance, staff wellbeing, recruitment and retention and strengths-based approach to intervention.

Job description Job responsibilities
1. Deputise for Team Manager in appropriate situations as deemed necessary.
2. Lead in necessary multi-disciplinary meetings including but not limited to: conference calls within a hospital setting; chairing Best Interest meetings; Managing Officer for safeguarding enquiries; Chairing Safeguarding meeting; Response to system crisis (market management, LSE); lead and direct accordingly
3. Maintain specialist knowledge in practice areas, including but not limited to: Practice Education; AMHP; BIA; Collaboration with other organisations to work in partnership for outcomes for adults; Contribute to the development of integrated services across health & social Care.

Recognised Social Work Qualification Registered or be in the process of registering with Social Work England Practice in accordance with Social Work England Standards
