Job summary
To provide management oversight to the social work service ensuring that the Local Authoritys statutory duties and responsibilities are delivered effectively to support and supervise the staff who are delivering the service - contribute to maintaining effective relationships with partner organisations, both internally and externally to the Local Authority. The team itself covers different pathways of our acute care system from the acute hospital to discharge to assess pathways including home and bed based. Our teams and therefore your job as manager to is to provide effective and timely assessment and care provision where appropriate to support discharge from these pathways
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and support staff within a busy hospital setting Oversee assessment, discharge planning, and case management to ensure safe and timely transitions of care Drive a strengths-based, person-centred approach in line with the Care Act 2014 Work in partnership with NHS colleagues, ward staff, and community services Ensure high standards of safeguarding practice and risk management Monitor performance, quality assure practice, and support continuous improvement Provide supervision, coaching, and professional development to staff

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Professional qualification in social work (BA/BSc, MA in Social Work or CQSW as required by Social Work England Registered or be in the process of registering with Social Work England
