We have an exciting opportunity for a School Nurse Practitioner in Paediatric Enuresis to join our School Nursing team, which sits within the Public Health 0-19 Services in Merton.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing a targeted, specialist, nurse-led Tier 2 Enuresis Service for children and young people aged 5-19 years presenting with persistent bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis) and related continence issues. You will deliver an evidence-based service to promote optimal bladder health, improve continence outcomes, and enhance emotional wellbeing through early assessment, effective intervention, and family-centred support.

Additionally, you will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme under the School Nursing service and deliver the role in accordance with CLCH Trust values and behaviours.

Main duties of the job

To deliver timely and holistic assessment and planning of skilled nursing care to support with bladder continence in negotiation with the child and family To provide skilled, effective, and evidence-based nursing care and interventions such as bladder training, lifestyle advice, enuresis alarms, and desmopressin therapy in line with NICE guidance. To support children, young people, and families to develop confidence, knowledge, and self-management skills to maintain continence and prevent relapse. To ensure equitable access across all localities, with targeted inclusion for vulnerable groups, children with SEND, and those from deprived or underserved areas. To effectively integrate with Tier 1 (school nursing, health visiting, GPs) and Tier 3 (paediatric and specialist continence) services through agreed referral and feedback pathways.

Education/Qualification Essential

Current NMC Registration Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School nurse) Numeracy skills required for the safe administration of medicines Nurse Prescribing- V100 Evidence of post registration study / learning

Desirable

Teaching Qualification Nurse Prescribing V300 Paediatric continence training certificate or willingness to undertake

Experience Essential

Experience working in an acute clinical setting as a Registered Children's Nurse. Experience of working with children who have bladder and/or bowel issues Experience of assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care and writing care plans for enuresis or bladder continence care. Evidence based knowledge of bowel and bladder care Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams Evidence of involvement in the management of difficult situations and conflict resolution Evidence of working without direct supervision and managing own workload Experience in providing practice-based learning support to others Experience of supervising students

Desirable

Experience of managing staff within a team Experience in working with vulnerable families.

Skills & Knowledge Essential

Ability to support people to make informed decisions in relation to their health and well-being. Awareness of health needs of children and young people Appropriate knowledge of clinical skills related to enuresis, bladder and/or bowel care Knowledge of quality issues, the audit process and clinical governance Knowledge of NMC Code Knowledge of Personal Development Planning Knowledge of clinical supervision Demonstrate knowledge of research - based practice Evidence of supporting equality and valuing diversity in own practice Evidence of current clinical competencies relevant to enuresis Medicine management/administration Empowering and working in partnership with children and young people and families

Desirable

Knowledge of assessment of health needs of the local population Background knowledge of current policy relating to public health and primary care

Key Attributes Desirable

Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
