Job summary
The Macmillan Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practitioner delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the colorectal cancer pathway, supporting patients through both the surgical and oncological pathway. The post holder will manage a defined caseload, act as key worker, coordinate MDT care, and contribute to service development, education, and quality improvement.
Main duties of the job
Act as key worker, ensuring continuity, coordination, and a personalised approach to care Deliver nurse-led clinics, holistic needs assessments, and end of treatment summaries Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support timely decision-making and care planning Provide expert clinical advice, education, and psychological support to patients, carers, and staff Contribute to audit, service development, and implementation of evidence-based practice
