Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Audiologist to join the adult Audiology Team at St George's NHS Hospital, for one year. The post holder will support the delivery of a range of adult audiology services, including assessment and rehabilitation. The role will involve working with adults with a range of hearing needs, including some patients with more audiologically complex requirements or additional support needs, under the guidance of senior clinicians. You will contribute to initiatives aimed at managing service demand, such as patient education sessions and hearing aid support clinics and therefore require a solid knowledge of the relevant BSA and BAA protocols. You will have the opportunity to maintain and develop any existing skills, such as speech audiometry, non-routine immittance testing, and other advanced diagnostic techniques, with appropriate supervision.
Main duties of the job
You will:
* Deliver adult audiology clinics across St George's Hospital and satellite sites* Undertake hearing assessments and provide hearing aid rehabilitation for adults * Support patients with complex needs with guidance from senior staff* Assist in the delivery of patient support initiatives (e.g. group sessions, hearing aid advice clinics) * Contribute to maintaining high clinical standards in line with BSA and BAA protocols * Participate in clinical audit, service evaluation and quality improvement activities * Support the ongoing development of the audiology service
