Job summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Adults Front Door Team, the first point of contact for adult social care referrals. This is a fast-paced and critical role where you will lead on screening, triaging, and managing referrals, ensuring individuals receive the right support at the right time. You will work with a wide range of partners to deliver effective safeguarding responses and promote positive outcomes for adults at risk. As a senior practitioner, you will also provide professional leadership, advice, and support to colleagues while helping to shape high-quality practice within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Triage incoming referrals and enquiries in line with Care Act 2014thresholds Make defensible decisions regarding eligibility, risk, and safeguarding Lead on complex cases and provide expert advice to staff and partner agencies Ensure robust safeguarding responses, including Section 42 enquiries where appropriate Support and mentor social workers, ASYE staff, and other team members Work collaboratively with health, housing, police, and voluntary sector partners Promote strengths-based approaches and early intervention Ensure accurate and timely recording in line with statutory requirements Contribute to service development and continuous improvement

Qualified Social Worker Registered with Social Work England Significant post-qualification experience in adult social care Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding practices Confident decision-maker in high-pressure, fast-paced environments Strong leadership and mentoring skills Excellent communication and partnership working abilities.
