Main duties of the job

At Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York, we provide specialist rehabilitation for adults with a range of complex neurological conditions in a supportive, person-centred environment. We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week).

The role:

This is a 15-hour per week position, with days and times to be agreed in collaboration with the successful candidate. The two-day-a-week structure makes it ideal for individuals who have other professional, academic, or personal commitments, offering genuine flexibility in how the role is integrated into your schedule. This opportunity allows you to apply and develop your neurorehabilitation expertise within a supportive team, while also maintaining the freedom to pursue interests in other specialties or client groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with neurological conditions Supporting service users with cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties following acquired brain injury or other neurological illness Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and review person-centred rehabilitation plans Providing psychological guidance and consultation to colleagues, carers and families Contributing to risk assessment, positive behaviour support and capacity-related discussions where appropriate Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, reports and outcome measures Supporting the continued development of high-quality, evidence-based neurorehabilitation practice across the service

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

HCPC-registration

Desirable

Postgraduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology or working towards the QiCN.

Experience Essential

Experience working with adults with acquired brain injury and/or complex neurological conditions Experience of neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention within a clinical setting Strong understanding of cognitive, emotional and behavioural presentations associated with neurological conditions The ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication, report writing and interpersonal skills A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
