Job summary
Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (SCAMHS) and Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT).
This role provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across hospital and community settings, supporting the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions in children and young people. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to responsive crisis care and ongoing management of patients.
The post includes participation in the MHLD first on-call rota, with Consultant support available at all times (on-site during working hours and off-site out of hours).

Main duties of the job
o Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of a comprehensive SCAMHS service across the Health Boardo Undertake timely and effective assessment and treatment of patients requiring urgent and acute mental health careo Provide clinical leadership and support to multidisciplinary team members within the serviceo Work collaboratively with clinical, medical, and managerial colleagues to ensure high-quality patient careo Support and participate in teaching, training, and research activities within the organisationo Engage in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service deliveryo Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation and ensure effective communication across teamso Monitor patient experience and respond proactively to feedback to improve care outcomeso Practice in line with evidence-based guidelines, including NICE and National Service Framework standardso Uphold professional standards in accordance with "The Duties of a Doctor"

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice. Valid Certified Advanced Life Support.
Desirable
Additional clinical qualification(s). Evidence of working towards membership of the Royal College.
Clinical Governance Essential
Participation in clinical audit (or quality improvement project) and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
Desirable
Knowledge of risk management. Knowledge of annual job planning/appraisal review process.
Experience Essential
Shall have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies. Able to demonstrate core competencies and clinical skills relevant to the post. NHS Experience.
