Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapy in Critical Care
Part Time 30 hours per week.
**This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months.**
We have an exciting opportunity for an advanced clinical specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
This post is a new, 12 month fixed-term/secondment post in the Intensive Care Unit at RBFT, as a proof of concept role.
You will be a versatile and enthusiastic OT, clinically expert in the management of the care of patients with a wide range of conditions and presentations, ideally with some experience of critical care areas.
You will be required to work autonomously as the sole OT on the unit, however will be supported by the OT Professional Lead and Critical Care MDT.

Main duties of the job
To be an Occupational Therapist clinical expert in the management of critical care patients for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT).
To be responsible for the operational management and clinical leadership of the Intensive Care Unit Occupational Therapy team, in conjunction with the Professional Lead.
To use expert occupational therapy knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the Intensive Care Unit Therapy team and other healthcare staff, and to manage own caseload of patients with highly complex conditions, as an autonomous practitioner.
To ensure a high quality and effective Occupational Therapy service to the Intensive Care Unit.
To be a member of the Occupational Therapy Department Management team, contributing to planning and policy development in the inter-professional team and department.
To deputise for the Professional Lead as required.
