Band 2 Ward Clerk (Orthopaedic Trauma Unit)
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our busy Orthopaedic Trauma Unit.

This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week (two week rotation pattern: Week One: Wednesday/ Thursday/ Friday 07:00-17:30, Tuesday 10:00-17:30 OR Tuesday 07:00-15:00 and Week Two: Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Thursday 07:00-17:30, Friday 10:00-17:30 OR Saturday 07:00-15:00).
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised individual to provide outstanding service to all who visit the department.
You will be confident working within a team in a fast-paced environment and have excellent IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly under pressure.
You will be responsible for consistently and accurately carrying out your duties as well as the provision of a high quality and efficient service, providing this in a confident and courteous way to service users.
You should have experience of working within an administrative environment, using multiple computer systems and managing data (electronic and paper-based).
Full compliance with local procedures, deadlines and best practice will be a key part of the role.

Job description Job responsibilities
Answer general enquires in a helpful and sympathetic manner. To ensure all correct data is entered onto hospital appointment system. To ensure the ward areas is kept well stocked with stationary, and photocopying as required. Data entry & reports. To ensure patients confidentiality is maintained. To maintain a professional approach whilst in clinical areas. Liaise on a daily basis with nurse in charge. Booking transport as requested and ensuring EDLs are completed in a timely manner. To be able to use the EPR system. Liaise with the facilities department on behalf of staff, logging maintenance requests.
