About this role

Job summary

To provide a comprehensive administration and secretarial support to the Shropshire Wheelchair and Posture Service, (a specialist clinical and mechanical multidisciplinary team who provide a service to people with mobility problems requiring a wheelchair).

In addition to this vacancy there will be Bank hours available for the first 12 months. This is due to Maternity leave with in the Team.

Main duties of the job

Share responsibility for reception desk. Be the first point of contact for service users; booking and arranging appointments, general enquires. Book and plan clinics whilst liaising with manufacturer representatives and clinicians. Secretarial support for the service: managing and coordinating diaries, ordering, taking minutes. Please make contact with the service to understand the nature of it's clinical speciality and the established administration support in place.

Person Specification

Training and Qualifications Essential

Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience Intermediate IT skills RSA 3 / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Experience Essential

Experience of Microsoft Office packages eg. Word, Excel Experience of patient related data collection systems

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - including observation, listening and empathy skills Ability to organise and prioritise Able to work as part of a team as well as independently Able to take responsibility for appointment organisation without direct supervision Knowledge of confidentiality issues Good telephone skills
