Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our front desk administration team at Bridgnorth Hospital providing a friendly and efficient reception and administration service to our Minor Injuries, Out-Patient and Main Receptions.

Main duties of the job
Duties will include the comprehensive use of the computerised Patient Administration System to ensure patients attending Minor Injuries and Out-Patients are booked in appropriately.
Excellent communication skills are an essential component of the role as you will be the first point of contact for face to face, telephone and electronic enquiries from patients, relatives, general public and staff.
Applicants should have several years experience of a front facing reception role ideally within the NHS, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, have a knowledge of Patient Administration Systems such as RIO, SEMA, CRIS and EMIS although training would be given to the successful applicant.
This role will be part of a 7 day working programme and occasional weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required in order to ensure continuity of service. There will also need to be flexibility to cover team holidays and absences by working additional hours and these will be negotiated within the team to ensure staffing levels are adequate.

Knowledge and Skills Essential
Ability to work under pressure both as a team member and individually Excellent organisational/prioritisation skills Ability to use initiative and utilise quiet times to maintain standards and initiate quality improvements to the service Excellent face to face verbal communication e.g., with potentially anxious and distressed patients and visitors
Training and Qualifications Essential
Good standard of general education including English Language GCSE or equivalent RSA II Typewriting or equivalent Numeracy skills Good IT skills/computer applications including Microsoft Office
Experience Essential
Substantial relevant experience of customer facing reception and clerical work preferably within the NHS
