An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) for Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners to join our Theatre team. We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to work within our busy theatre complex. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care across anaesthetics, scrub, and recovery, working alongside Surgeons, Anaesthetists, and Theatre staff to provide the very best experience for our Patients.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high quality evidence-based care with attention to Patient experience. To be responsible for the assessment, planning and reviewing of care throughout the operating list. You will develop and demonstrate effective leadership qualities using excellent interpersonal skills when working in the multi-disciplinary team. You will maintain a safe environment through developing and maintaining skills in the use of surgical equipment/instrumentation according to manufacturers' instructions and Trust policies. You will share your knowledge and skills through mentorship, supervision and teaching where applicable. Demonstrate personal responsibility towards professional learning keeping up to date with training and adhering to Trust guidelines and policies. You will demonstrate an awareness of the Trust's recovery plan and an understanding of list productivity, efficiency and planning. You will have good IT skills and demonstrate accurate record keeping. The successful applicant will work within the theatres team in anaesthetics, scrub or recovery. There would be opportunity to rotate within the disciplines and this would be supported by the theatre team.

Registered Operating Department Practitioner with valid HCPC registration or soon to qualify Registered Nurse with current NMC registration & Anaesthetic course Relevant post registration qualifications

Knowledge Essential
Understands the concepts of clinical governance. Demonstrates knowledge of effective risk management. Knowledge of current NHS issues including performance targets and the wider modernisation agenda. Knowledge of NHS agendas and application to role. NMC / HCPC Code of Conduct. Ability to work within a team. Able to use own initiative and meet deadlines.
Experience Essential
Must be a qualified practitioner, successfully completing our in-house the competency package Experience working within an operating theatre
