Craneswater Group Practice are looking for a GP Triage assistant to work within the practice. This role is being offered through the Portsmouth South Coast PCN. The PCN have teams of healthcare professionals to provide tailored care for patients in the community included in this are: GPs, Nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and social prescribers.
The position is part time and will be a min of 21 hours per week shifts are:
Wednesday 8am - 1pm
Thursday 1pm-6.30pm
Friday 8am - 6.30pm
This is an exciting part time post. GP Triage assistants work closely with our GPs and is part of the dynamic and friendly reception team. You work within our high achieving practice just a stones throw from the Southsea Seafront

Dealing with patient enquiries both by telephone, face to face or through Anima
Providing patients/pharmacists repeat prescriptions

Our dynamic team of 45 is made up of 5 GP partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, 3 practice nurses and 3 HCAs.
We have a list size of 11,500 patients worked over two sites we are a training practice .

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are:
Arrange appointments either face to face or via the telephone using Anima
Support clinical team working in the practice
Be the first point of contact for patients
Dealing with patient enquiries both by telephone, face to face or through Anima
Providing patients/pharmacists repeat prescriptions
Monitor duty appointments
Triage using Anima
Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies
Administration
Dealing with patient tasks from Doctors in a pro-active manner
Entering details onto the patient computer medical records
Producing summary printouts and printed documentation as required by community staff, secondary care and the patient
Generating repeat prescriptions
Registering temporary and regular patients on to the computer system
General Reception Duties
locking doors, security alarms where relevant. Complying with Data protection and smartcard security
Ensure confidentiality at all times
Infection control, ensuring reception is compliant
Comply and familarise yourself with the practice's policies and procedures
Carry out any reasonable request by doctors and managers
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade A to C or grade 4 in English
Desirable
Worked within Primary care Knowledge of System one
Experience Essential
Experience of working with the public Experience of working on a busy reception
Desirable
Experience of working in a GP practice
