We are looking for a Receptionist to join our dynamic and friendly team. In this high achieving practice only a stones throw away from Southsea seafront
This role is for 26.5 hours worked over 3 days.
Shifts are :
Tues 8am -6.30pm
Weds 1-6.30pm
Thurs 8am-6.30pm
with opportunity for additional shifts when needed
Two days are never the same within this exciting role.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors as well as carrying out general office management tasks.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the Practice and will work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service you will deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.
You will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a professional, efficient and effective way.
You will provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working with our clinical and administration teams.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.
About us
Our team of 45 is made up of five GP partners and three salaried GPs. Three nurse practitioners, three practice nurses and two health care assistants. We have a list size of 11,500 patients worked over two sites. We are a training practice and continually develop all our team. Arrange appointments either via telephone/face to face and using ANIMA online triageSupport clinical team working in the practiceBe the first point of contact for patientsDealing with patient enquiries both by telephone or face to face or onlineDeal with prescription requestsMonitor duty appointmentsAdministration
Dealing with patient tasks from Doctors in a pro-active mannerEntering details onto the patient computer medical recordsProducing summary printouts and printed documentation as required by community staff, secondary care and the patientGenerating repeat prescriptionsRegistering temporary and regular patients on to the computer systemGeneral Duties
locking doors, security alarms where relevant. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent in English
Desirable
Experience of working in a GP Surgery desirable but not essential as full training will be given knowledge of system one
