Job summary

The Senior Clinical Fellow (ST6+) in Haematology will join the internationally recognised MPN/CML service at Hammersmith Hospital, contributing to specialist outpatient care, inpatient management, and the delivery of cutting-edge clinical research. The post offers exceptional exposure to complex myeloid disease, including patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, participation in clinical trials, and close collaboration with the Academic Department of Haematology at Imperial College London. This post may suit a candidate who has completed their haematology specialist training or has a strong track record in haematology, and is seeking specialist experience in MPN/CML. This appointment will be a full-time position on a fixed term basis for a 12 months contract.

Participate in specialist CML/MPN clinics; see inpatients in Haematology Care and additionally and if willing participate in Clinical Trials and Research Opportunities.

Job description Job responsibilities

Review and manage patients in dedicated CML and MPN outpatient clinics.Provide expert assessment, treatment planning, and longitudinal disease monitoring and participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding complex cases.

Additionally, should also support the management of CML/MPN inpatients, including those receiving:

Intensive therapies, Clinical trial interventions, Pretransplant conditioning, Posttransplant care and complications

If desires to participate in Clinical Trials & Research Opportunities will have the opportunity to engage in ongoing phase IIII clinical trials supported by the Malignant Haematology Clinical Trials Unit.

The clinical fellow will be supervised by Dr Andrew Innes, MPN Clinical lead, and will be expected to partake in the trusts appraisal process.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GMC registered MBBS or equivalent MRCP or equivalent

Desirable

FRCPath or equivalent Entry on the appropriate GMC Specialist Register (haematology)

Clinical Skills Essential

Understanding of clinical risk management Competent to work without direct supervision where appropriate Appropriate level of clinical knowledge Shows knowledge of evidence-informed practice Shows awareness of own limitations

Academic achievements including research/publications Essential

Evidence of achievement appropriate to level of appointment Understands the principles of research

Desirable

Experience of clinical or laboratory research Interest in pursuing formal research training and/or an academic career

Language Essential

Are able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil job requirements

Relevant Experience in Specialty Essential

Significant experience in haematology (Must have at least completed 3 years of specialty training or equivalent in haematology) Experience in MPN/CML management

Desirable

Completed higher specialist training in Haematology or equivalent Interest in pursuing subspecialty career in myeloid diseases
