Job summary
West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH) is seeking a Paediatric Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist for Respiratory (Band 8a) to join a forward-thinking, integrated paediatric service spanning multiple hospital sites.

Main duties of the job
To conduct holistic assessment including physical examination, observation and ordering, conducting and interpreting relevant tests and investigations to devise careplans that promote the activities of daily living for children and young people withinthe service. To deliver nurse led clinics, assessing and promoting the health of individuals. To work in collaboration with the multi professional team, contributing expert, evidence based knowledge and skills to relevant aspects of the patients care and treatment. To plan and conduct appropriate follow up, closure or transition of care for the patient. To develop and provide patient education and information which is appropriate and responsive to individual needs and level of development. Provide expert leadership and guidance to the service and wider Clinical NurseSpecialist team and ward areas. Manage a team of allocated Clinical Nurse Specialist when on duty with overall continuing clinical responsibility and leading the team to carry out delivery of care to acomplex group of patients. To manage and minimise risk; maintaining safety of patients and staff in investigating incidents and identifying ways to improve practice.

Education & Qualifications Essential
Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN / RN Child) with current NMC registration Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience Evidence of continued professional development relevant to paediatric respiratory care, asthma and long-term ventilation (e.g. BSACI competencies for LTV and asthma) Completion of a recognised PICU course relevant to ventilated children

Master's level qualification or working towards Professional leadership development course
Experience & Knowledge Essential
Significant experience in paediatric respiratory/allergy/asthma services Advanced clinical skills in complex respiratory and LTV care Experience of organisational and people management Proven change management skills
