Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 2 Medical Typist/ Administrator to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology team, within the Division of Surgery and Women's & Children's Services.
Main duties of the job
The medical typist role is a demanding but rewarding role, working as part of a friendly and enthusiastic team.
The successful candidate will have the confidence and enthusiasm to work under their own initiative and be able to prioritise a competing workload.
This role will predominantly focus on typing, but will also include the occasional administrative responsibility.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications Essential
OCR/RSA II (or equivalent) Typing/Word Processing qualification or equivalent measurable level of keyboard skills English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent

OCR/RSA III
Knowledge and Experience Essential
A minimum of 6 month's typing/word processing experience to include administrative duties
Desirable
Medical audio typing experience
Skills and Knowledge Essential
Accurate touch typing/ word processing skills Good IT skills including working knowledge of Microsoft applications Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to demonstrate an interest in the role Ability to adapt to different working practices and environments Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate documentation Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive/ confidential information
