Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated midwife who has a minimum of two years' experience a to join our dynamic and supportive team. This role is based across multiple key service areas offering exposure to a wide variety of different experiences, including Triage (both telephone-based and face-to-face clinical assessments), the Maternity Assessment Unit, and the Day Assessment Unit. The role will include night and weekend shifts as well as night hospital on call commitment (approximately 6/year)

Main duties of the job

This is a highly varied and rewarding position that offers the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of clinical scenarios and patient needs. Within the triage setting, the post-holder will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, and evidence-based advice to pregnant individuals over the telephone, as well as conducting in-person assessments to determine the urgency and nature of care required.

The role involves delivering high-quality clinical care to women requiring emergency, urgent, or planned reviews. The midwife will be expected to carry out comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments, interpret clinical findings, and escalate care when necessary in line with local and national guidelines.

In addition the role will include supporting at planned caesarean section lists, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery.

Overall, this role requires excellent clinical decision-making skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of compassionate, patient-centred care. Person Specification

Experience Essential

Band registered 6 Midwife with at least 2 years experience

Desirable

Previous significant MAU/DAU experience SSSi training or equivalent

Skills Essential

Excellent interpersonal skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise Motivated and enthusiastic
