About this role

Job summary

The Gynaecology department are seeking a highly organised and proactive Cancer Pathway Coordinator to support the smooth management of gynaecology cancer pathways and help deliver high-quality, patient-centred services.

This is an important and rewarding role at the heart of cancer service performance. You will be responsible for tracking patients through their diagnostic and treatment journey, ensuring national waiting time standards are met, and helping clinical and operational teams identify and resolve delays quickly. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes and experiences at a critical point in their care.

The role focuses on actively managing the cancer Patient Tracking List (PTL), monitoring pathway progress, and ensuring that investigations and results are completed within required timeframes. Working closely with booking teams, diagnostic services, clinicians, and administrative colleagues, you will help coordinate activity, maintain accurate records, and escalate risks where necessary. You will also support performance monitoring by producing and reviewing data, identifying trends, and highlighting areas for service improvement.

If you are motivated by making a meaningful difference, enjoy working in a structured yet dynamic environment, and want to help ensure patients receive the right care at the right time, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is fixed term / secondment post ( Maternity Leave cover) until 1st June 2027.
