Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience as an industrial engineer providing leadership to plan, coordinate, develop strategies and execute effective corrective actions to enhance the overall supplier quality of products produced at an industrial/manufacturing facility. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
Major DutiesAs an INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER, you will: Lead and implement the organization's supplier quality program. Serve as a contracting officer's representative (COR). Plan, coordinate, and execute the quality program to ensure quality production of dies, coins, and numismatic products consistent with ISO 9001 standards, customer needs, and US Mint needs utilizing a lean/six sigma approach, and an integrated management approach including communication tools, decision making, team building, and problem solving. Lead continuous improvement efforts mintwide. Develop manufacturing and assembly processes for new products or processes. Assist in developing and reviewing contracts for the purchase of raw material and packaging supplies. Develop sampling plans and conduct receipt inspections to verify delivered items meet contract specifications. Submit nonconformance reports and review and approve corrective actions for defective receipts. Oversee the supplier scorecard program to measure supplier performance. Establish quality plans for die, coin, and numismatic set production. Monitor process performance and take steps to reduce defects, cost, waste, and inefficiencies and improve outputs.RequirementsAll employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.
