Job SummaryThis position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Plant Engineering Division. As a Toolmaker Supervisor, you will be administratively and technically responsible for the supervision of work operations performed by the following: Toolmaker Work Leader, Toolmakers, Machinists, and Apprentices.

QualificationsYou must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. You must meet the screen-out element Ability To Lead Or Supervise , normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions. To meet the screen-out element, applicants must have direct experience in a supervisory or lead position leading many personnel and performing administrative duties such as; organizing, assigning and directing work assignments, purchasing raw materials and cutting tools, adjusting schedules to changing priorities to meet objectives, evaluating work performance, and working with budgets. In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified. Major DutiesAs a Toolmaker Supervisor, you will: Plan and schedule work, sequence of operations, manpower, equipment, materials, and tools on a day-to-day, project-by-project, and month-to-month basis for the overall use of subordinate personnel. Explain work requirements, methods and procedures to subordinates; advises and counsels workers on how to improve performance and explains new work techniques. Identify and ensures work unit goals are aligned with United States Mint strategic goals. Foster a safe working environment.RequirementsAll employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. If no certification is made before the probationary (or trial) period ends, your appointment will be terminated. You are encouraged to actively engage with your supervisor, seek feedback, and understand role expectations. Additional guidance and support will be provided during onboarding. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. May be required to file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on. Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis. May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc. Pass a pre-employment physical examination. AND You must show in your experience in the online application that you possess the knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
