Job SummaryThis position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Coining Division. As a Coin Production Manager, you will serve as the Chief of the Coining Division and is responsible to the Deputy Plant Manager for the administration of the entire division. The Division is responsible and accountable for the production of the Nation's circulating coinage.

QualificationsYou must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Be sure all experience is documented in your resume by indicating place of employment, job title, length of time performing the duties, and the name and contact information for the supervisor. We must be able to verify this experience in your resume in order for you to receive credit. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes: -Providing management and oversight of product production; AND -Using Lean Manufacturing techniques to manage resources, establish controls, and promote efficiencies to ensure quality products and processes; AND -Planning and coordinating production schedules to utilize the capability of the people and capacity of the division to meet both production goals and delivery schedules. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Major DutiesAs a Coin Production Manager, you will: Direct the formulation of plans, organization objectives, policies, priorities, and procedures to ensure that the mission of the division is accomplished in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure that forecasting and utilization of resources is being accomplished in a coordinated, efficient, and effective manner. Ensure that adequate controls are in place, performance is monitored, and goals and objectives are met. Initiate proposals for requisition of both capital and non-capital equipment to effect operating improvements.RequirementsAll employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. If no certification is made before the probationary (or trial) period ends, your appointment will be terminated. You are encouraged to actively engage with your supervisor, seek feedback, and understand role expectations. Additional guidance and support will be provided during onboarding. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. May be required to file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
