About this role
An Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring high-quality output. The role focuses on balancing productivity, cost, safety, and quality in a complex manufacturing environment involving rubber processing, tire building, and curing operations.
Key responsabilities
Process Optimization
Analyze and improve manufacturing processes Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to increase throughputApply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesProduction Efficiency & Productivity
Measure line performance (OEE – Overall Equipment Effectiveness)Develop standard times and work methodsBalance production lines and optimize labor utilizationReduce cycle time and downtimeLayout & Workflow Design
Design and improve plant layout to enhance workflow and minimize material handlingSupport installation of new equipment or production linesUse simulation tools to model production systemsData Analysis & Reporting
Collect, analyze, and interpret production dataDevelop KPIs and dashboards for plant performanceUse software tools (Excel, SAP, Power BI)Continuous Improvement Projects
Lead Kaizen events and improvement workshopsImplement Lean tools such as: 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), SMED (quick changeovers)Track and sustain improvementsCross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:Production teamsMaintenanceQuality & Process engineersAlign improvement projects with plant goals Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field3–5 years of experience in manufacturing (tire, automotive, or similar industry preferred)Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt) is a plusSkills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of manufacturing processes (preferably rubber/tire production)Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement toolsProficiency in data analysis and reporting toolsGood communication and teamwork skillsProject management capability (transversal projects)Proficient english
