About this role

The Kyrgyz Republic is looking for individuals interested in supporting English language acquisition at higher education levels. The government of the Kyrgyz Republic has set ambitious goals to expand economic and academic opportunities for its citizens, placing strong English communication skills at the center of its education reforms. According to the 2026 English First (EF) ranking of 123 countries, the Kyrgyz Republic ranked 101, classifying it as having very low English proficiency. Limited opportunities for practical language use, combined with large class sizes, continue to hinder students’ ability to build effective communication skills. Achieving the country’s broader economic development goals will require strengthening teaching methodologies and improving English proficiency among educators, so they can deliver high‑quality instruction across all fields. As a High School English Teacher, you will collaborate with school staff to strengthen English language instruction and proficiency. Through daily conversations, personalized support, and capacity strengthening workshops for teaching staff, you will enable students, teachers, and community members to become more confident in communicating in English as well as more knowledgeable of American culture.
