Job summary
West Suffolk Professionals (WSP) are responsible for the recruitment, management and retention of all temporary staff within the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
The role of the Bank Administrator is to provide skilled support to meet the demand and requirement for temporary Administrators; filling gaps in staffing and carrying out general administrative duties across all departments in the Trust, as and when required.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Bank Administrator who can support our existing Accounts Receivable team as a temporary worker for a period up to 30th November, 2026.
Ideally the candidate will be available for shifts Monday-Friday and for 37.5 hours per week for the duration of this period. Finance experience would be beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills would receive role specific training.
This will be a hybrid role with the expectation of working in the office at West Suffolk Hospital for a minimum of 3 days per week. Home working would only be authorised once competency is demonstrated.
Main duties of the job
The role involves being responsible for raising invoices. Assisting the Accounts Receivable Manager with the Private Patient income and Overseas Visitor assessments.
Raise department invoices following receipt of invoice request forms. Raise Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Central Procurement Hub invoices in accordance with agreed timescales. Deal with queries raised in respect of invoices in a timely manner, liaising with departments and other organisations to resolve queries. Assist the Accounts Receivable and Overseas Visitor Manager with collection of debts when required. Raise invoices for private patient charges based on information received from clinicians, medical secretaries, wards and departments. Basing invoices on agreed price lists/pricing methodologies. Deal with queries raised on private patient invoices liaising with other departments and insurance companies as appropriate. Provide administrative support for the Overseas Visitor function, including corresponding with patients and updating electronic records. Undertake other relevant duties as may from time to time be delegated by the Accounts Receivable and Overseas Visitor Manager after appropriate consultation by the post holder.

Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grades A-C). Experience & Knowledge:
Previous experience in an administrative role eg. organising meetings, answering the telephone, supporting multidisciplinary teams with individuals at all levels of expertise, diary management etc. Knowledge of office procedures and IT skills. Experience of interactions with customers within specific guidelines. Worked in a demanding environment with varying pressures/conflicting demands. Skills & Abilities:
Good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrable interpersonal skills- can work as part of a team. Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint and Publisher. Advanced data entry skills, with the ability to collate, analyse and interpret numerical and textual information. Personal Qualities:
