An exciting opportunity awaits the right candidate as NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) seeks to recruit an experienced and self-motivated individual to join the Neighbourhood South Commissioning Team in Tees Valley as a Senior Commissioning Officer. Working in a busy, high-volume but friendly and supportive environment, this role will suit an organised person with an eye for detail and plenty of team spirit.
By joining our team in Tees Valley you will be supporting the continued development of high quality accessible health care to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities for the people of Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, Darlington, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.
Reporting to the Head of Commissioning, and working as part of a dynamic and multi-professional team, you will have an opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills as a strategic commissioner for primary and community services as part of the neighbourhood health transformation agenda; manage and deliver a comprehensive work programme aligned to the ICB strategy and deliver agreed commissioning plans within budget.

Main duties of the job
Contribute to the strategic planning of team commissioning plans, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on the wider organisation, resource requirements and building in contingency and adjustments as necessary.
Lead the delivery of commissioning plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the sector.

Facilitate and support the effective oversight of contract management arrangements for providers across the sector.
Work with a wide variety of stakeholders, including general practices, Local Authority, Secondary Care Trusts, Local Medical Committee (LMC), GP Federations and other stakeholders across health and social care, including the wider third and voluntary sector.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in commissioning Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
Experience Essential
Extensive knowledge of contracting/commissioning across the sector , acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training Comprehensive experience of project principles techniques and tools such as Prince 2 and Managing Successful Projects Experience of managing and motivating a team/virtual team and reviewing performance of the individuals Experience of identifying and interpreting national policy Experience of financial and\or budget management
