Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical Lead post within The Adult ADHD Service.

The Adult ADHD Service provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults (18+ in Solihull and 25+ in Birmingham) with ADHD. We are currently going through an exciting period of development, including evaluation of our clinical pathways, introduction of reasonable adjustment clinics and a time-limited project offering assessments for ASD to individuals already under our service and where clinically appropriate. In addition, we are a pilot site for BSMHFT's AI project and Accurx Project.

We are a multi-disciplinary team with a strong ethos of working together for the improvement of the service and the service user experience.

The clinical lead will work alongside the Hub manager in ensuring that clinical standards are monitored and evaluated, and ensuring high quality, safe and effective care is delivered to those accessing our services.

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical leadership, support, and supervision to clinical staff. To support the team with advice and guidance on the management of complex clinical cases. To work as an integral part of the Adult ADHD Service which will include undertaking some direct clinical work. To provide clinical leadership to ensure clear protocols are in place to Maintain consistency and quality of care when service users for all service users under the care of the ADHD Service. Support safe, efficient and effective high-quality transitions across the appropriate pathway. Ensure the team works in a collaborative manner with multiagency teams across the Birmingham and Solihull System. Support the team in delivering evidence-based care for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of adults with ADHD

Person Specification

Training and qualification Essential

Registered Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse or Occupational Therapist Post Registration experience of working with Neurodiverse conditions

Desirable

Evidence of post registration additional training relevant to the role

Responsibility Essential

History of holding responsibility and accountability for nursing decisions and empowering nurses to make difficult clinical decisions Successful track record of prompting, leading and implementing change programmes that drive up standards and service performance

Desirable

Significant experience of leadership and proven track record of managing groups of staff and/or teams

Knowledge and experience Essential

Significant post qualification experience working within mental health and / or learning disabilities

Desirable

Experience of leading on audit and/or research activity related to clinical practice

Skills Essential

Resource management - the ability to develop team and individual key strengths through clinical and professional supervision

Desirable

To have a track record of effective working with clinical education providers
