Job summary
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Equivalent Applied Psychological Practitioner with relevant post-qualification experience to be the principal psychological practitioner in the Community Mental Health Team at Lyndon Clinic, Solihull, with leadership over the 18-25 CMHT psychological provision across Solihull, and to undertake a leadership role within the community transformation model. There are exciting changes under the community transformation model and the successful applicant would be heavily involved in this. We encourage applicants from Clinical/Counselling Psychology and also Applied Psychological Professions who feel that they meet the person specification. The post is part of our adult community mental health (CMHT) provision in our Solihull CMHTs.
Our Psychological Services team is a friendly, dynamic, & diverse team of Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Clinical Associates in Psychology, Assistant Psychologists, and Trainees on placement and close working with Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners.
Main duties of the job
The role requires a skilled and highly experienced clinician, who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. Excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision; to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions, both individual and in groups. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.

The post-holder will be part of a multi-professional senior leadership team supporting the Transformation of our Community Services in BSMHFT as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.
We have an established track record in service innovation supporting a diverse range of clinical and academic interest, with time for research and teaching related activities built into many of our job plans. We have a well-developed CPD programme with protected CPD time and have robust supervision and professional line management systems. We have well established links with local doctoral training courses and educational institutions in the region.

Satisfactory completion of a Health and Care Professions Council/British Psychological Society accredited postgraduate professional training course in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist. Relevant post-qualification experience, and formal training in supervision, enabling the post holder to independently supervise clinical psychology trainees in accordance with relevant criteria adopted by local University Clinical Psychology Training Course criteria Extensive post qualification experience of specialist psychological/relevant specialist assessment and individual or group based treatment of clients with complex difficulties across adult secondary or tertiary care settings. Highly developed theoretical and practical knowledge of the field of psychological theory, practice and evidence based treatments consistent with postgraduate level professional training and further post qualification study, training and supervised experience. Experience of representing psychological services within a multidisciplinary context.
Desirable
Significant professional leadership, especially professional development, clinical governance and supervision and appraisal.
