An exciting opportunity has arisen for aspirant band 6 sister/charge nurse to support the senior team on Ward 6A - General Medicine.

To provide clinical and managerial leadership for nursing and support staff
To deputise for the Departmental Manager in their absence
To take a lead on clinical practice and departmental issues
To work clinically in all areas of the department.

Qualifications/Training Essential
Registered Nurse Qualification Evidence of own post basic education to meet the requirements of the service and nurse registration

Teaching/Mentoring Certificate / skills Other Post Basic Qualification Leadership development programme
Knowledge, Experience & Expertise Essential
Significant experience as a Band 5 registered nurse within a hospital setting A commitment to providing exceptional levels of patient care in a professional and compassionate manner Awareness of the Must-Dos Leadership and clinical supervision skills
Desirable
Recent experience working within Acute Medicine Recent experience in undertaking staff appraisals Knowledge of Acute Medicine Involvement in Quality Improvement initiatives
Communication and Relationships Essential
Excellent communication skills Demonstrates professional leadership skills Ability to delegate, organise and prioritise care delivery
