Job summary
Anexciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetics Team at Whipps Cross Hospital as a Band 6 Dietitian.This is a rotational post joining three other band 6 dietitians, with rotations covering gastroenterology, oncology and critical care (including both inpatient and outpatient oncology caseloads), orthopaedics, and acute stroke.
We are looking forward to welcoming a motivated,enthusiasticand dynamic individual to our Nutrition and Dieteticteam, which consists of ten dietitians and two dietetic support workers. The successful candidate will bringa strong foundationof clinical dietetic skills and will have the opportunity to further develop these within a busy,wellsupportedacute setting.

Main duties of the job
Provide a high-quality dietetic service to patients at Whipps Cross Hospital, completing comprehensive nutritional assessments and developing evidence-based treatment and monitoring plans across specialist clinical areas in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT)
Independently manage a caseload of patients and providecross-cover support to colleagues as required
Provide expertisein nutrition and dietetics withindedicated MDTs,contributing to clinical discussions, attending relevantmeetings, delivering teaching to healthcare professionals and supporting the development of resources, policies and clinical guidelines
Line manage and provide clinical supervision and support to junior dietitians and dietetic support workers
Engage in audit, serviceevaluationand quality improvement initiatives as relevant to the role
Maintain up-to-date, evidence-based practice through regular CPD activities and reflective learning
Support the dietetics and wider therapies team with non-clinical duties as requiredto support smooth service delivery
This is a rotational post based at Whipps Cross Hospital; rotations include elements of clinical specialty alongside general medical and surgical wards. Specialtiesinclude:gastroenterology, oncology and critical care,orthopaedicsand acute stroke. Postholders rotate every 9-12 months. Rotations are at the discretion of the clinical lead dietitian and senior dietetics team.

BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification HCPC registered
Experience Essential
Evidence of practical, post-registration experience as a dietitian, performing duties and responsibilities comparable to those described in the job description Experience of working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient care Experience of working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver service development and quality improvement Experience of conducting relevant audits and service evaluations Experience of developing and delivering teaching sessions related to nutrition and dietetics Experience of delivering undergraduate student education/supervision and assessment
