Job summary
We are looking for a Locum Consultant Physician in Diabetes & Metabolism.The post will be appointed to the Department of Diabetes & Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Diabetes Division, Barts Health NHS Trust and will be based at the Royal London Hospital (RLH), Mile End diabetes centre (MEH) and St Bartholomew's Hospital (SBH). The post will have clinical sessions and commitment to General Internal Medicine (GIM) at RLH and Diabetes and Obesity clinics at all three sites. The aim of this post is to deliver clinical sessions and aim for excellence in clinical standards as required by national audit and the Clinical Quality and Care measures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the Diabetes & Metabolism team at RLH and join the current consultant of the week rota (contributing 1 week in 7 of general medicine) and provide weekend on call cover for Diabetes & Metabolism (1 in 8) as part of the commitment.
The appointee will work a 8 PA job plan with seven day working incorporated into the timetable.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care. The successful candidate will be required to adhere to the Trust's policy on Maintaining Medical Excellence and to be committed to maintaining their standard of performance by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date.
