About this role

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Critical Care Outreach Team in a substantive post as Sister/Charge Nurse. This role offers successful candidates the opportunity to develop new skills and gain experience as an Outreach team member, contributing to the clinical assessment of the deteriorating patient. The post holder will be an experienced qualified healthcare professional in the field of Critical Care and hold a Critical Care Course or equivalent competencies.

The post holder will play an essential role in assisting the Critical Care Outreach Team to provide extensive clinical advice, education and support to ward based multi-disciplinary teams, across clinical areas throughout the Trust. Providing comprehensive assessment and care of the deteriorating/acutely ill adult, leading to early intervention and treatment. The post holder will work in partnership with the Multi-disciplinary Team to initiate appropriate care to prevent further physiological deterioration and identify and refer those patients who require ICU/HDU admission.

Main duties of the job The post holder will be an experienced qualified healthcare professional in the field of Critical Care who will play an essential role in assisting the Critical Care Outreach Team to provide extensive clinical advice, education and support to ward based multi-disciplinary teams across a number of clinical areas throughout the Trust.
