Job summary Join The Avalon Centre in Swindon as a Bank Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society. As a Bank Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors whilst undertaking planned maintenance. Main duties of the job Join The Avalon Centre as a Bank Maintenance Assistant where you'll help maintain a safe environment for vulnerable individuals. Your responsibilities include ensuring facilities are fit for purpose, repairing faults, and undertaking planned maintenance. You'll work with an established team and liaise with contractors. The role offers flexible shifts after a paid two-week induction and no minimum hours commitment. Key tasks include maintaining buildings, ensuring safety with DIY skills, conducting preventive maintenance, assisting in repairs and decorating, and reporting faults. A strong team player with previous maintenance experience and sensitivity towards residents is essential.

As a Bank Maintenance Assistant, you will be:

Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose. Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained. Undertaking planned preventive maintenance. Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings. Assisting in all decorating. Liaising with the manager reporting all faults and defects. Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance. Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks. To be successful in this role, you will:

Comply with system and procedures. Have previous experience within a maintenance role. Work effectively as part of a team and independently. Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service. Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings. You will be working at The Avalon Centre, a purpose-built neurological centre for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury.

The centre has been designed specifically to support people with Neurological conditions, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Previous experience within a maintenance role. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Courtesy and respect towards residents to ensure quality service. Attendance and participation in training and staff meetings.
